Stainless Steel 316L is a low-carbon version of 316, made up of about 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. This extra molybdenum enhances resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. With a carbon content of ≤0.03%, it prevents sensitization during welding. Typically, the tensile strength is around 485 MPa, yield strength is 170 MPa, and it has an elongation of about 40%. Its excellent mechanical stability, high creep resistance, and superior formability make SS 316L rectangular bars perfect for both welded structures and precision-machined components.
