Chuck Metals is a reliable manufacturer and supplier of Super Duplex Steel Bars and Rods based in Singapore, catering to a diverse array of industries throughout Pulau Ujong and Southeast Asia. Super Duplex Steel is celebrated for its impressive strength and remarkable resistance to corrosion, making it a perfect fit for challenging environments like offshore, marine, chemical, and petrochemical applications. At Chuck Metals, we offer precision-engineered bars and rods that comply with international standards such as ASTM A276 and ASTM A479. Our dedication to quality, prompt delivery, and exceptional customer support ensures that our clients receive trustworthy materials essential for critical operations and maintaining structural integrity.
Super Duplex Steel is a dual-phase stainless steel characterized by a balanced microstructure of austenite and ferrite, typically comprising around 25% chromium, 7% nickel, and 3-4% molybdenum, with some grades also including nitrogen and tungsten. Common varieties include UNS S32750 and S32760. These steels boast a tensile strength ranging from 750 to 930 MPa, a yield strength of about 550 MPa, and outstanding toughness. They are particularly resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride stress corrosion cracking, especially in seawater and harsh chemical environments. Their exceptional strength and corrosion resistance make them ideal for both structural and corrosive service conditions in demanding applications.

Super Duplex Steel rods are generally resistant to galvanic corrosion due to their high chromium and molybdenum content. However, they can still be susceptible when coupled with highly dissimilar metals in certain environments.
Yes, Super Duplex Steel bars can be welded using appropriate techniques and filler materials. Careful control of heat input and post-weld heat treatment is essential to avoid degradation of their mechanical properties.
Super Duplex Steel rods are available in various sizes, ranging from small diameters to large rods, typically up to 300mm or more. Finishes can include hot-rolled, cold-drawn, polished, or ground, depending on the application requirements.
Super Duplex Steel Bars and Rods find their place in various industries where high strength and corrosion resistance are paramount. In the oil and gas sector, they are utilized in subsea pipelines, valves, and pressure vessels. The marine industry employs them for propeller shafts, seawater systems, and structural components that face saltwater exposure. In chemical processing, they are perfect for storage tanks, heat exchangers, and reactors that handle corrosive fluids. Desalination plants, power generation facilities, and the pulp and paper industries also reap the benefits of Super Duplex Steel, thanks to its ability to endure harsh conditions, lower maintenance costs, and ensure a long service life.
