What is A286 Bar and Rod?

Alloy A286 is a superalloy based on iron, featuring 24–27% Nickel, 13.5–16% Chromium, and 1–1.5% Molybdenum, along with small amounts of Titanium, Vanadium, and trace Boron to enhance its strength. It boasts remarkable oxidation resistance and impressive mechanical strength, particularly at temperatures reaching up to 700°C (1290°F). In its age-hardened state, A286 achieves a yield strength of 450–590 MPa, tensile strength up to 930 MPa, and elongation of about 15–25%. The alloy retains good ductility and toughness even at cryogenic temperatures, along with excellent creep resistance, making it a reliable choice for challenging thermal and structural conditions.
