What is Hastelloy Forgings?

Hastelloy Forgings are generally crafted from high-nickel alloys such as Hastelloy C-276, C-22, X, or B-2. These alloys typically contain around 55–65% nickel, along with molybdenum, chromium, cobalt, and iron, which all contribute to outstanding corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. The forgings boast high tensile strength (about 690–800 MPa), excellent yield strength, and robust resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. The forging process enhances the grain structure, boosting fatigue strength, toughness, and dimensional stability. Hastelloy retains its properties even under thermal stress, pressure, and exposure to both oxidizing and reducing agents, making it ideal for extremely corrosive processing conditions.

Hastelloy Forgings Uses

Hastelloy Forgings find extensive use in industries that operate in highly corrosive or high-temperature environments. In chemical processing, they are utilized in reactors, columns, piping, and heat exchangers that deal with acids, chlorides, and other harsh chemicals. In the aerospace sector, Hastelloy forgings are essential for engine components and exhaust systems that require both heat and corrosion resistance. Power generation facilities depend on them for turbine parts and flue gas scrubbers, while marine and offshore sectors also rely on their durability and performance.
