Inconel 690 Bars and Rods are high-chromium, nickel-based alloys, typically composed of about 58–63% nickel, 27–31% chromium, and 7–11% iron. The high chromium content provides the alloy with exceptional resistance to oxidation, sulfidation, and various types of aqueous corrosion. On the mechanical side, it boasts a tensile strength of around 620 MPa and a yield strength of about 275 MPa, along with impressive creep and rupture resistance at elevated temperatures. This alloy maintains its mechanical integrity even under harsh thermal and chemical conditions, making it perfect for high-stress applications. Plus, it shows good metallurgical stability during long-term exposure.

Inconel 690 Bars and Rods find extensive use in industries that demand superior corrosion resistance in high-temperature and high-pressure settings. In the nuclear sector, they are utilized for steam generator tubes, reactor cores, and other structural components due to their ability to withstand aggressive media. In chemical processing, they are employed in heaters, heat exchangers, and piping systems that come into contact with strong acids and oxidizing agents. The alloy’s excellent oxidation resistance also makes it a great choice for furnace parts and combustion systems. Additionally, it plays a vital role in marine engineering, desalination plants, and pollution control equipment.
