Nitronic Bars and Rods are crafted from nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steels, primarily Nitronic 50 (UNS S20910) and Nitronic 60 (UNS S21800). Nitronic 50 features around 20–23% chromium, 11–13% nickel, 4–6% manganese, along with trace amounts of nitrogen and molybdenum, which together provide exceptional corrosion resistance and strength. On the other hand, Nitronic 60 is engineered for wear and galling resistance, containing about 16–18% chromium and 8–9% nickel. These alloys boast tensile strengths that range from 600 MPa to over 1000 MPa, depending on the specific grade and condition, while still maintaining excellent toughness and resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking.
