They deliver impressive tensile strength between 485–620 MPa and yield strength around 275 MPa, along with excellent oxidation resistance that holds up to 1100°C. While they can’t be heat-treated for hardening, 446 maintains its strength even at high temperatures and stands strong against sulfidation, thermal fatigue, and scaling. Although their weldability and formability are somewhat limited compared to austenitic grades, they shine in high-temperature, non-cyclic applications.
