Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy that typically contains around 63% nickel and 30–35% copper, along with trace amounts of iron, manganese, carbon, and silicon. It boasts impressive corrosion resistance in seawater and acidic settings. In terms of mechanical properties, Monel 400 forgings have a tensile strength ranging from about 550 to 700 MPa and a yield strength between 170 and 345 MPa, depending on their condition. The alloy also maintains good ductility and toughness across a broad temperature spectrum, with a hardness of roughly 65 Rockwell B. These characteristics make it ideal for high-performance and corrosive environments.
