The stainless steel 321H flat bar is made of high carbon grade 321, designed for improved strength and resistance to high temperatures. It includes about 17-19% chromium, 9-12% nickel and a maximum of 0.04% carbon. The addition of titanium enhances its intergranular corrosion resistance. Mechanical properties of 321H include 505-750 MPa tensile strength, 205 MPa yield strength and 40% elongation. The primary alloying element in Stainless Steel 321H is titanium (Ti), which stabilizes the steel and prevents carbide precipitation during welding. It also contains chromium (Cr) for corrosion resistance and higher carbon content for increased strength at elevated temperatures.
Stainless Steel 321H is most suitable for high-temperature applications in the range of 427°C to 816°C (800°F to 1500°F). It offers excellent oxidation resistance and stability in these temperatures, making it ideal for heat exchangers and furnace components.
