Stainless Steel 431 (UNS S43100) generally consists of 15–17% Chromium, 1.25–2.50% Nickel, and 0.12–0.20% Carbon, along with trace amounts of Manganese, Silicon, and other elements. It’s heat-treatable and provides impressive mechanical strength and toughness. The tensile strength falls between 850–1000 MPa, with a yield strength of about 520 MPa, and hardness reaching up to 285 HB in its annealed state. It shows good corrosion resistance in freshwater, industrial, and mildly acidic settings.
